Lent: Ezekiel 18:21

Becoming an elder of a church should not be a goal but is an outcome of following Jesus Christ. The importance of the faithful family as a qualification is the essence. When one is able to lead the family well, one can lead church well. When one is able to lead the church well, one can lead the company or business well. The question of what age can be elders, it's important to realize that the leadership here means a servant leadership. So in the family, instead of ruling over, one should be serving other family members, church members and company/business members. When you change the reference point to be serving and sacrificing like Jesus did, one can conclude that age or gender do not matter. How much one is immitating the life of Jesus through all engagements is what matters the most in God's eyes.
